About Me

Miss Castañeda is a 1st grade teacher with 7 years of experience in the lower grades. She graduated from the University of Houston and has a degree in English Literature. Miss Castañeda encourages her students to reach their fullest potential through a growth mindset attitude. She continually finds ways to grow as an educator through the support of professional development, along with guidance provided by colleagues and administrators.

Miss Castañeda believes in the beauty of cultivating a family-like classroom environment. Building positive relationships to earn the trust of her students is the key to yearlong success. In her classroom, you will find students chanting and using gestures as part of a movement-based learning approach to boost engagement.
