About Me
Geneva Villarreal is a Special Education teacher with 30 years of teaching experience. She started her teaching career at NINOS Inc in 1994, teaching Prek-K3 and Pre-K4 for thirteen years. Villarreal has been an educator for San Benito CISD for the past 15 years where she has taught Pre-K, 2nd, and 4th grade. Fourth is her favorite grade. She graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2007 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies. Villarreal demonstrates her passion for teaching by trying new and creative approaches, which seek to motivate students and enhance their learning.
Villarreal believes in creative teaching styles which involve showing the students how the lesson topic/content relates to their own lives and the real world. This can help them develop a greater sense of purpose. She believes that getting to know your students and learning about their backgrounds truly can help us find the most relevant lesson ideas.
Mrs. Villarreal’s interests include spending quality time with her six children, her one and only grandson, and her husband of 30 years. Photography, softball, and listening to music are some of her favorite hobbies.
