About Me - Mario A. Barrera

 

 

Hi there! I’m Coach Barrera and I’ll be one of the Physical Education teachers at Dr. Cash for the 2018-2019 school year. This will be my third year teaching at this wonderful campus.

 

Although I was born in Brownsville, I was essentially raised in San Benito; having lived here since I was five years old. I went through the SBCISD system, graduating from San Benito High School in 2009. From there, I went to the University of Texas at Brownsville, from which I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in 2014.

 

I am married to a beautiful wife and we have 2 wonderful children together. Hobbies that I enjoy doing include staying physically active, playing video games, and watching football, especially NFL football. Go Pats! I also enjoy coaching a variety of sports. This year I plan on coaching middle school football, boys soccer, and track & field.

 

I am really looking forward getting to work this school year and I am ready to make this yet another
great year.
